Angels with Black Wings is a website for essays, fiction and reflections. This notice explains how information is used when you read, contact us or subscribe. The site does not currently sell products or accept payments.

Messages and subscriptions

When you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you provide are used to receive and respond to your enquiry. Messages are delivered to the site’s Gmail inbox and may also be stored in the website’s form records. Please avoid including sensitive personal information.

If you subscribe to receive new writing, your email address and subscription preferences are used to deliver those updates. You can unsubscribe using the link in subscription emails. Sending a contact message does not itself request a subscription.

Site operation and service providers

The website uses WordPress and GoDaddy hosting, with services for forms, subscriptions and spam/security protection, including Jetpack/Automattic, MailPoet and Sucuri. Google provides the Gmail inbox. These providers may process information needed to deliver their services, such as form submissions, email addresses, IP addresses, browser information and technical logs. Their processing may take place outside your country.

Search Console is used to review aggregate search performance, such as clicks, impressions and search queries. Links to Medium and other external websites lead to services with their own privacy notices.

Cookies and technical information

WordPress and connected services may use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, preferences, security and usage measurement. You can control cookies through your browser; blocking them may affect some features. Embedded third-party content, where present, may collect information under the provider’s own policy.

Care of your information

Personal information is used for the purposes described here, not sold or rented. Access is limited to site administration and providers supporting these functions. Information should be kept only as long as needed for correspondence, subscriptions, site security and applicable legal requirements; backup copies may remain until their normal expiry.

To ask about your information, request access, correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, use the contact form. Requests will be handled subject to applicable law and any necessary identity verification. Changes to this notice will be published here with an updated date.
